It can’t get any better than this
It’s definitely one of Holland’s most refreshing dance festivals.

A Day at the Park has shaped a style of its own these last five years, bringing together techno and house music with idyllic surroundings.

Now it’s time for a celebration, an extraordinary line-up containing acts like Richie Hawtin, Groove Armada and Jazzanova is about to be released on the crowds, Saturday 21 July in the Amsterdamse Bos.

Known for its fine cuisine, colourful decorations and hilarious theatre acts, A Day at the Park is still most renowned for its musical program.

Combining crunchy techno with sunny house tunes, exploring heavy electronic sounds versus live bands -all stages of the festival present different kinds of moods during the day.

And with this year’s fifth anniversary, things can’t get any better.

It’s where it all starts and ends, the main stage. For this special occasion the line-up is more mesmerizing than ever. Performing one of his notorious sets is Minus chief Richie Hawtin, perhaps the best person to showcase the ongoing evolution of techno music.

Also appearing are the boys from Groove Armada, the world famous pop/dance outfit, doing one of their unique DJ gigs. Another living legend Green Velvet will be present as well, presenting a live set including dancers and vocalists, expect some madness here!

And with all these eminences on stage, British full-blooded DJ Steve Lawler is without a doubt the best person to present his famed sound. Dutch duo Housequake completes the bill, a solid part of A Day at the Park since the beginning these DJs embody the popular Dutch house sound by giving audiences everywhere exactly the party it needs.

From Amsterdam with love

A much praised addition to A Day at the Park these last years, this second stage presents a stunning array of live and DJ performances. Berlin live band Jazzanova is here, doing a full on funk show with vocalist Paul Randolph, as well as their Dutch kindred spirits Kraak & Smaak. Then there’s Aeroplane, surely one of the most exciting nudisco DJs at the moment. And what about Chef’ Special, a Dutch live band on the rise, already creating heavy party vibes at Lowlands and Sziget, now it’s up to A Day at the Park.

A bit deeper, but definitely one of the highlights this stage will be Benny Sings, a singer-songwriter with a mind of his own, not one to miss! DJ Real el Canario, perhaps the most versatile turntablist from the Amsterdam scene will be here too, making sure things remain deep and funky.

Under the radar

Getting down to some more serious techhouse business, that’s what it’s about at this brand new stage. One of Holland’s living house legends, DJ Dimitri Kneppers, will be behind the decks here, just as upcoming artist ONNO will be doing an exciting DJ performance.

Also, don’t forget to check out Arjuna Schiks and the mindblowing live set he’s known for. Providing a progressive edge to the area is American DJ Blake Jarrell, while underground hero De Man Zonder Schaduw will take the music deep and dirty with one of his masterly DJ sets.

Last but not least is Dennis Ruyer, host of world’s largest dance radio shows there is, Dance Department, but also a rising star as live DJ as well as a treasured resident at A Day at the Park since years -it’s gonna be something else!
