MARCEL DETTMANN (DE)
DJ and producer MARCEL DETTMANN is recognised as being one of the most influential proponents of contemporary techno.
Widely associated with iconic trademarks including Berlin, Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann stays true to his roots by consistently innovating his interpretation of electronic music, and, nevertheless, integrating art deeply into the music scene. As a passionate DJ and one of the faces of Berghain, Dettmann seeks to inspire his listeners with sounds both reduced and rough, balanced by emotional and surprising moments throughout his sets. Between pure techno, banging Chicago, tracks old and new of the past twenty-five years, Marcel Dettmann communicates his message with an apparent effortlessness.
MONOLOC is a techno fanatic. Ever since he made the transition from rock and heavy metal to electronic music as a teenager, the Frankfurt-born artist has dedicated his life to the dance floor. His raw yet sleek take on techno has earned him a global following and the reputation to boot. Today he resides in Berlin where he threw himself head-first into making music, allowing creative ideas to flourish and cement themselves. With music out on Innervisions, Life & Death and Soma, 2015 has shown the results of all his hard work. He currently sits somewhere between techno and house, nurturing a sound that is as driving, groovy and low-slung as ever, but with greater emotional range. Monoloc has never felt freer to explore and experiment within his craft.
Our Labyrinth first lady AMELIE LENS truly is one of the most exciting export products Belgium has to offer these days. Amelie LENS is taking the scene by storm ever since releasing her solid debut EP on the Italian Lyase Recordings. A collective sign of approval came from Berlin based power duo Pan-Pot who reached out to Amelie and asked her to get involved with Second State, Tassilo and Thomas’ own imprint. A happy home to grow up in and a promising platform for LENS to release her music on for many years to come. The time is now and things are happening… they’re happening fast.
